WBZ was the first TV station to go on air in Boston, and they are still headquartered in the original building. Beck Associates was hired to rebuild one of their Production Control Rooms, which, because of the size and shape of the room, presented significant challenges. We worked closely with the WBZ engineering team to apply creative space-planning and equipment selections. We built a monitor wall consisting of an array of 44 inexpensive flat-panel displays, each driven by a processor that provides UMD and tally information right in the display. The overall occupied depth of the monitor wall, including the built-in processors, is less than twelve inches.
